Byzantine Soft Stone

Made from cement powder combined ground dolomite and coloured with mineral oxides. This mixture is pressed at high pressure in a mould to form individual tiles that be cut with scissors or regular tile nippers and therefore perfect for children. Please note that using scissors gives a rougher more inaccurate cut. We carry 3 sizes 5mm and 20mm squares and 10x20mm rectangles. All tiles are approximately 4mm thick These tiles are not suitable for outdoor use unless properly protected from humidity during frost season and some fading may occur with UV exposure particularly colours (023, 024, 025, 026, 027). They look like traditional stones used in Byzantine and Roman mosaics but without the difficulty of working with natural stone. These tiles are porous and can be sealed using a stone sealer or diluted pVa. 5mm is packaged in 10g (+/-50 tiles) and 200g (+/-1000 tiles) 10mm is packaged in 50g (+/-53 tiles) and 1000g (+/-1050 tiles) 10x20mm is packaged in 50g (+/-21 tiles) and 1000g (+/-420 tiles)
